Care for Granite / Quartzite
When North Coast Tile & Stone fabricates and installs granite counters, we seal the stone 2x with a penetrating stone sealer. These stones should be re-sealed every year with 511 Impregnator Pro or Dupont StoneTec Impregnator. These sealers will not change the color of the stone.
*This sealer will help prevent stains from setting into your stone counter. It will allow water transmission – so a cold glass of water will leave a moist ring and will dry over several hours. This will not damage or permanently affect your stone.
*Marble, Travertine and Limestone can be affected by acids. Citrus, Beer, wine, liquors, and vinegar will also cause etching (dulling of polished finish).
*Wipe up spills and drips as soon as you notice them.
*This stone is more porous and can scratch more easily
DO NOT USE:
- Citrus-based cleansers
- Ammonia-based cleansers: Dawn, Windex
- Vinegar
- Bleach or bleach wipes
- Harsh chemical cleansers (409, Comet, Soft Scrub, TileX, etc)
- These products will slowly remove the sealer used.
PLEASE USE:
- Gentle Ph balanced cleansers
- Stone specified cleanser
- Liquid Ivory Soap and water
- Simple Green (diluted)
